View pane Find toolbar, pop-up menuClicking the down-chevron in the View pane's Find toolbar's input box opens this menu.

The menu includes the following options:

  • Case-Sensitive (default: unticked). Indicates whether the input search term is checked case-sensitively or not. This setting equates to the 'case sensitive' tick-box on the stand-alone Find results dialog.
  • The next three options operate like a set of radio-button controls, as ticking one un-ticks the current selection:
    • Regular Expression (pre-v11.6.0 default: ticked). Indicates whether the input terms should be parsed as if a regular expressions. This should be left in the default setting. This option is not repeated on the Find results dialog, unlike the setting above. Inactive, but ticked by default on the stand-alone Find results dialog.
    • Text (from v11.6.0 default: ticked). The search string is tested as a literal string. For existing users, note this means that with this setting a regex search input will be treated as a string literal.
    • Tinderbox Expression. From v11.6.0, this option allows agent-style queries to be used, thus allowing checking of more than title/text/one other selected attribute.
  • Entire Document. (default: ticked). In the stand-alone Find results dialog, the scope is fixed to the setting used to generate the pop-over. To Find at a different scope, close the pop-over/dialog and start a new find with the appropriate options. The tick state of this option alters the scope of the search carried out by Find:
    • Entire Document [Ticked].
    • Selected Container(s) [Not ticked] The currently selected container(s) and their descendants.
  • [rule]
  • A list of recent search terms.
  • [rule]
  • Clear Recent Searches. Clicking this clears the above list of past search terms.
