From v11.5.0, integration is provided for the Readwise app. Readwise is a commercial service that can share Kindle and PDF highlights and annotations with applications like Tinderbox. https://readwise.io.
Before attempting to import Readwise highlights, a Readwise Authorisation Token is required. Readwise users can obtain this from https://readwise.io/access_token. The token should be pasted into the Readwise box in Document Settings:Accounts. The token needs to be added to every TBX documents that will use Readwise integration. Thus integration is at per-document and not application level.
Choose menu File ▸ Import ▸ Readwise to import your highlights. This creates a root-level container note at path /Readwise which will hold the imported notes. One note will be created for each source book. Individual annotations are copied to the note's text, separated by two carriage returns.
Three system attributes support Readwise integration:
- $ReadwiseToken is the token for the Readwise API (see above).
- $ReadwiseID is an ID number that helps Readwise locate items.
- $ReadwiseDate is the last time this note was updated from Readwise.
